LEGO® Technic Slammer Dragsters / Dueling Dragsters 8238

The set consists of 2 dragster cars--one blue, one yellow--of slightly varying styles, with different shaped chassis, which are designed to be raced against each other. The dragster-shaped cars can be made with the help of a comprehensive instruction booklet with 1:1 sized diagrams. The instructions are clear, but concentration is required--there are no short cuts with this challenging set and it isn't possible to improvise and come up with the right results. However, this means that the building process is totally engrossing. Each dragster fits into a slammer mechanism, and when the bar of this is 'slammed' down, the dragster shoots off. The harder you slam it and the flatter the surface, the further it goes and youngsters will have great fun shooting their dragster further than the others. The slammer action isn't strong enough to be rough or dangerous, and although the dragsters will break off into smaller parts if slammed too enthusiastically, this is part of the design and half the fun is reassembling it again.
